Description
Gas R600a
Gas R600a (isobutane refrigeration) is an HC hydrocarbon belonging to the alkane series. Hydrocarbons are refrigerants composed exclusively of carbon and hydrogen atoms; these compounds are already naturally present in the atmosphere and therefore do not represent an environmental risk.
Gas R600a, like all hydrocarbons, is a flammable gas, and there are safety concerns regarding its use but, thanks to the high thermodynamic properties, its use requires reduced refrigerant charges. This very low quantity needed (few grams) makes Il Gas R600a perfectly safe and extremely perfomant.
Furthermore, gas requires the use of mineral oils in the refrigeration unit compressors, which allows to avoid the humidity problems connected with the use of synthetic lubricants.
Applications
- commercial refrigeration (counters and cold rooms, machinery for ice production, refrigerated warehouses and vending machines)
- domestic refrigeration (freezer and domestic chillers)
